5 months. 5 months = 20 weeks = 140 days (maybe a few more). that's how long my attachment to MICA NMD is. as i sit at my desk way past knock off time, i try to savour in all the last moments that i can. i try to remember how my surrounding looks like, how my walk to the toilet is, how my walk to the office is. but most of all i know i will
remember all the friends i am going to leave behind.
i type this for the last time using my computer at work and i am typing it with knots in my stomach. I feel a rush of sadness wash over me as i am going to leave the place where i work in for 5 months behind. as reality hits me that i am really leaving for good, i can't help but tear for a while. after all, this is the place i spent my days in for 5 months.
i used to count down to the days i have left till the end of IAP, but now that it's here, i can't bear to leave this place. i can't get over the fact that 5 months just flew past like this and i guess what i'm trying to say is thank you.
i'm not really good with words verbally, so i'll pen them down here. i know isz will read it. maybe even copy and paste to send to others like ken. best is print out and pin it on the board! haha. but ya. most of what i wanna say is in the email i sent. and so thank you. here's an extract from my final report just for you guys."I would like to thank my supervisor Ms Alamelu Subramaniam for her constant care and concern. She was very friendly throughout the whole period and gave me no pressure for working under her. She set the mood for my working environment to be friendly and open. She listened to my opinions and gave me a lot of very exciting and new opportunities at work. Working under her has been a very wonderful experience and I am sure that I could never get a better supervisor than her.
Next, I would like to thank the artist unit for having me in their room. They have made the second half of my internship an even more enjoyable experience than it already is. Due to the fact that it is a room and not a cubicle like the rest of the department, the people in the artist room are very close and friendly. They are very entertaining and gracious people who accepted me into their little ‘community’ with open arms and I am very thankful for that.
I also want to thank the rest of the staff in my division for making me feel at home even during work. They lightened the mood with their friendly attitudes and made working in MICA an enjoyable experience. I made friends there that I will remember forever and keep in contact with."
aren't i just the sweetest little thing? haha.
i know i've said it a lot of time but i'll say it again. Thanks for the memories! you guys will always be loved and remembered. =)
Lots of love from your sweetest intern ever,
